VARTO Oral Surgery blends a surgical focus with traveler-friendly planning in Los Algodones, just a short walk from the Andrade/Algodones pedestrian gate.
Led by Dr. Roberto Vargas Moras, who focuses on oral surgery, with support from Dr. Luis Amador in general dentistry, the team handles everything from simple extractions to full-arch implant rehabilitation.
VARTO uses well-known implant brands, including NeoDent, Hiossen and Straumann, and maps clear treatment sequences so visitors can stage treatment sensibly between trips.
Your Dental Departures advisor schedules chair time around flights, shares a written estimate in advance and sequences multi-step work, such as root canal plus crown or staged implants. There is no booking fee.
Yes. Lab-made restorations, including crowns, bridges, dentures and often veneers, are covered for a defined period. Certain implant components may also be included when specified for your case.
To keep coverage valid, patients are expected to follow the written aftercare, attend maintenance checks and use a night guard if prescribed. Before treatment begins, you’ll receive VARTO’s current written warranty for your plan, including the coverage term, what is included or excluded, such as smoking or missed recalls, and how repairs or replacements are handled.
Drive to Andrade, California, park at the Quechan lot and walk through the Algodones pedestrian gate. VARTO sits a short, flat walk inside the main dental zone.
After booking, you’ll get a GPS pin, nearby landmarks and the easiest meet-up or drop-off point. If you would rather not walk, take a short local taxi from the gate to the front door.
For international patients, clinics here typically take cash and major credit or debit cards. Larger implant or full-arch plans may allow bank transfer.
Your Dental Departures advisor will confirm accepted card brands, any processor fees and whether a deposit is required to reserve surgical or lab time.
Spanish is standard, and English assistance is available for consultations, consent and aftercare.
Ask for bilingual paperwork if you prefer English throughout.
An uncomplicated root canal is usually scheduled over 1–3 days.
If you are adding a post/core and a ceramic or zirconia crown, plan for around 3–5 days total to allow for lab fabrication and a precise try-in. When clinically appropriate, the team can bundle steps into fewer, longer visits.
Most single-tooth implants are two-stage. Visit 1 includes diagnostics and implant placement, plus grafting or sinus lift if needed. Healing, called osseointegration, follows.
Visit 2 includes the abutment and final crown, with a few days for lab work. For full-arch treatment, such as All-on-4, All-on-5 or All-on-6, expect a similar phased plan, with provisional teeth discussed up front.
VARTO commonly advertises a complimentary initial evaluation for treatment planning.
Your advisor will confirm eligibility for your specific case and ensure any included diagnostics are noted on your booking.

Im about to get surgery tomorrow so I thought I would put in a stellar review! I've been to Algodones 3 times and have used Sani and another independent dentist. Varto dentists, staff and customer service is 2nd to none. I will NEVER visit an American dentist and will drive 200 miles to sit in a Varto chair. Professional, clean, compassionate, caring. I plan to get more cavities so I can visit again!
After a lifetime of dental horror stories, Varto has been such a blessing. Their kindness, compassion, patience, honesty, humility, authenticity, attention to detail and consideration are unlike anything I’ve ever experienced in any medical setting. The quality and look of the crowns are amazing and very natural, even on front teeth. After hearing of my experience and seeing the results, several friends are already planning on making appointments. I highly recommend them to anyone, especially those that dread the dentist. They are so good and so fast that recovery is far less than what I’m used to. I am a patient for life!! Side note to address the questions everyone asks me…Hope it helps someone doing research like I was a few months ago: -Los Algedones is very safe. The people there are helpful, kind and very hospitable. Don’t worry about current politics. Nothing crazy is happening at this part of the border. It is a town that relies on making sure foreigners feel safe and they do it well. -Most in the town speak English and Google translate does the rest. Communication in English is no problem at Varto. -No need for pesos. It’s all in dollars. Bring some cash for street vendors but most businesses take card. Take a checkbook for large purchases to avoid the 3% fee. -You need a passport. You can get one same day at the Tucson passport agency. The state department website tells you how. Both sides of the border are tightening security and things are changing by the day. You’ll have no worries if you have a passport. Kids too. -The hotels are nice and clean. And the food is amazing! They even have “soft menus” which is convenient. -Ignore your friends and family when they say you’re crazy for considering going to Mexico for dental work. They are wrong. Best decision of my life.
I’m personally writing this review just so that this may reached one other person that may be nervous or hesitant like I was to go to Mexico and have their dental work done, but I have to say from the moment I emailed and was greeted when we walked in the staff there was so friendly And most importantly the place is very clean. I never felt once that I wasn’t in good hands. I came with a lot of questions he answered them all very confidently and spoke great English. My tooth that they put on an existing implant turned out perfect, I couldn’t be happier. I highly recommend this team in matter fact I have already recommended them. Thank you so much for making my smile beautiful again! See you next time.
Staff was awesome and very knowledgeable and accommodating would highly recommend using them for dental work.
I cannot say enough good things about this place! The staff is top notch and they all go above and beyond for you, Fernanda is there every step of the way and will answer any questions or concerns you may have..they all just feel like family at this point. I am so pleased with how my smile has transformed and would highly recommend Varto Oral Surgery. Thank you so much Doctors and staff for making me smile again!
